OHS AND EMERGENCY FIRST RESPONSE IN OUR EVERYDAY LIVES

Observing OHS in a workplace, looking after the safety of staff and the ability to administer emergency first aid are extremely important aspects of our everyday as well as professional lives. Why?

Because human life and health are at stake.

Imperfect help is better that perfect help which does not come in time.

By administering first aid to victims you can save a life or significantly improve the chances of a full recovery. As time goes by, the chances for successfully helping a victim dwindle. If a person stops breathing, their brain begins to die after 4 - 6 minutes. It would be good to be prepared for such incidents, so as not to be useless if faced with one.

The more people learn how to administer first aid, the safer we will all be.

Regulations, including OHS regulations, are there to be followed.

Observing OHS regulations at the workplace, attending obligatory initial training sessions, on-site training, periodic refreshers, establishing procedures, occupational risk assessments, drawing up evacuation plans, correctly equipped first aid kits, functioning firefighting equipment... all those serve to protect the lives and health of staff at the workplace.
